Bobby Lee Phillips, 58, Malvern, born June 13, 1956, passed away October 25, 2014.
Florence Hines,84, passed away on October 29, 2014.
Arrangements are pending and will be announced by Atkinson Funeral Home.
Funeral services for Evon Hawkins will be Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 11:00 AM in Greater New Hope Baptist Church.

On Tuesday, Oct. 28, the Williams Baptist College Eagles played the North Arkansas College Pioneers in an exhibition game at Magnet Cove High School. The teams played two halves of basketball, with the Pioneers taking the first half and the Eagles winning the second half. Magnet Cove graduate Aaron Hamby plays for WBC and scored two points in the first half and added seven points in the second half.

When I was growing up, I really didnâ€™t care for it much because everyone knew everyone and there were very few surprises. But once I left and lived in more populated areas, I came to realize how important the small town atmosphere is.

As anyone who has attended a big-time game can attest to, the band is crucial for keeping the spirits of the home crowd up during the slower moments of the game, such as time outs and quarter breaks (not to mention the long halftimes).
In my years covering sports, I have seen all sorts of bands, at both football and basketball games. Iâ€™ve seen them perform well, and Iâ€™ve seen some bands that left me wondering why they were even there.
The Raptor Wrestling Pre-Season Takedown Tournament will be held at the Glen Rose Elementary Gym (14334 Hwy. 67, Malvern) on Saturday, Nov. 1.
The coaches will meet at 8:45 a.m. and the wrestling will begin at 9 a.m. and will follow a tournament format: highest score after three takedown attempts (one point for a takedown and three points for a throw).
