June 17, 2014

On Monday morning, Animal Control Officer Darren Finley helped the Malvern Police Department remove a bear from a tree on Earnest Street. Finley stated, “It was about 180 pounds, a 2-year-old black bear.” Finley said they used sedation and a rope system to get the bear out of the tree. Generally, he said, black bears are fairly docile. “To me they are not a danger as long as you don’t get in between mama and cubs,” Finley added.
