One of the many things I love about my job is how involved the community is when it comes to sports.
Whenever there is an event out of town that I cannot make it to, someone usually supplies a picture from the event so the kids can get the recognition they deserve.
Soon we will be starting a new weekly segment that consists solely of submitted photographs.
This is where you get to shine.

Kristyn Sheets, the agricultural education and FFA teacher at Magnet Cove, is teaching more than farming and ranching. Sheets is teaching self-sufficiency and community service.

Albert (BoBo) Jasper Wallace, 67, of Malvern passed away on July 16, 2013 at HSC Medical Center.
When the oppressive heat of summer hits, the last thing you want to do is be out in the weather exerting yourself.
But with football camps, I see it from another perspective. After being deprived of the sport for six months, I will take any football I can get.
I feel for the players out on the field, I really do. I couldn’t imagine putting on all the gear they have to wear as they run in full-speed contact drills.
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Authorities say an SUV driven by a man who was fatally shot by Little Rock police wasn't actually stolen, although officers thought it may have been stolen shortly before the driver was killed.
Little Rock Police said Monday that an SUV driven by 26-year-old Deon Williams appeared to match the description of a stolen vehicle.
However, Little Rock Police spokeswoman Sgt. Cassandra Davis said Tuesday that the vehicle wasn't actually stolen.
Authorities say Williams fled from police and produced a gun before an officer shot and killed him.
Over the last two weeks, I have been writing a series of articles explaining sports to those who may be new to them.
So far I have covered the biggest sports in America.
In upcoming editions, I will cover some of the more obscure sports, some of which are rather deserving of a closer look.
