HOT SPRINGS â€” Capella Healthcare and Mercy Health have ended their discussions at this time to join together National Park Medical Center and Mercy Hot Springs, officials announced today.
Girl Scout Troop #6202 will be having a cereal drive on Friday, June 28 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. at Malvern Walmart.
Donated cereal will go to local food pantry, The Cup of Water, to help the hungry children of Hot Spring County.

Quilts of all kinds, shapes and sizes will be available for viewing.
If you have quilts of long ago, new quilts, baby quilts, lap throws, wall hangings, etc., this is your chance to show them off.
Bring your quilts to the Education Room on Thursday, June 27 from 1 until 4 p.m.
Quilts may be picked up Saturday, June 29 from 2 until 6 p.m.
Brickfest Baby Contest will be held Saturday, June 29 at City Park. The event is sponsored by Farmers Bank & Trust.
Early registration is $10 at any Farmers Bank and Trust location or Malvern Chamber of Commerce. Saturday registration is from 8 until 8:45 a.m. and will fee will be $15. Contest starts at 9 a.m.
The Honorable Chris E Williams, currently Circuit Judge of the Seventh Judicial District has finished a 12-year appointment for service as Chairperson on the Judicial Discipline and Disability Commission.
Judge Williams was appointed by the Supreme Court of Arkansas in July of 2001 for his first six-year appointment and reappointed for a second six-year term beginning July of 2007.
In July of 2012, Judge Williams was elected chairperson of the commission and the JDDC is grateful for his dedicated years of service to the judiciary of the State of Arkansas.
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) â€” The Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department says a routine bridge inspection will mean that a lane of Highway 67 at Donaldson will be closed this week.
The department says crews will inspect the Union Pacific Railroad overpass on Highway 67 on Wednesday â€” weather permitting. The work will mean the closing of the northbound lane of the highway in Hot Spring County from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
