The Malvern Daily Record is always looking to offer new features. Right now on the drawing board is a project to spotlight the people in our community that make a difference — a difference in a positive way.
Those people could be volunteers or anyone having a positive impact toward helping the community and the people who live here in our readership area.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Four work zones will greet Arkansas motorists on major state highways during the holiday weekend, but state highway officials say Interstate 40 between Little Rock and Memphis will have all lanes open.

The state Highway and Transportation Department on Tuesday urged drivers to be careful while in the construction areas.

Traffic on I-40 near Hazen has been snarled for months because of construction around the White River bridge, but Highway Department Director Scott Bennett said work is nearly complete and all lanes will be open.
