Toast and Roast honors Clem, earns funding for hospital

March 5, 2014

Phil Clem was honored – and the subject of some good-natured kidding – at the Hot Spring County Medical Foundation’s annual toast and roast. Hospital administrator Sheila Williams said the event was just a little short of a total sell-out. The event raised more than $6,200 through its silent and live auctions, she said. Williams did not have the total earned through the event’s ticket sales at press time.

As you might expect, other governors approached me about the ground we have broken on health care in Arkansas, both with our Payment Improvement Initiative and with the Arkansas Private Option.

February 28, 2014

Get your Canadian tuxedos ready, ladies. Canadian tuxedos? If you don’t know what one is (which you do, just maybe not by this name) let me tell you... it is when you wear denim both on top and bottom. Do you think this is a fashion faux pas, because if you do you’re mistaken. Once upon a time perhaps it was, but not anymore. Denim is an excellent material due to how durable and long-lasting it can be. You’ll hear me say this on just about everything, you get what you pay for. I have jeans that cost more than your average pair of jeans do; mind you, I have had some of these for years upon years and will have them for years to come.
