The Hot Spring County Quorum Court meets Tuesday night at 6:00 to discuss the following items:
â€˘ An ordinance to correct a an addition error in the county budget
â€˘ An ordinance to appropriate $13,314.02 to Bismarck, Lono-Rolla, Magnet Cove and Rockport fire departments
â€˘ An ordinance to allow the tax collector to fill one full-time position in that office
â€˘ An ordinance to amend the budget to increase the pay of the countyâ€™s election coordinator, and
â€˘ A resolution to endorse the tax-back incentive program for Prime-Line.
The public is welcome to attend.

There will be a special called meeting of the city budget committee at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan.12, at Malvern City Hall. Mayor Brenda Weldon said the meeting has been called to address personnel issues.
Malvern Police Department responded to car that had driven over the curb by Fred's Super Dollar around 3 p.m. today. There appeared to be no injuries.
PARIS (AP) â€” Police official: Suspects in Charlie Hebdo massacre killed, hostage freed.
UPDATE from the AP â€“ Said and Cherif Kouachi, the brothers who attacked the Charlie Hebdo satirical weekly, came out with guns blazing Friday evening after an all-day hostage siege at a printing plant northeast of Paris, a French police official said. They were killed and their hostage was freed, authorities said. A total of 16 hostages were released.

Did you hear or see all the fire trucks racing down MLK this afternoon? The MDR has learned that the call was a false alarm at Walmart, caused by a system malfunction.
Crews will be removing and repairing the two Highway 270 bridges spanning Interstate 30 near Malvern. The work will require closing the I-30 eastbound outside lane between mile markers 96 and 98.
The eastbound outside lane closure will be Thursday, January 8th and Friday, January 9th between 9:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., weather permitting. Traffic will be controlled using barrels and warning signs.
