Employees at the Malvern post office help patrons decide the best shipping method for their packages. The post office will be open on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, but lobby hours both days will be 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Regular mail delivery won't be affected.

According to Google, which released a report Tuesday on the top trending terms of the year, the top term overall was "Robin Williams," after the well-known and popular comedian died in August. No. 2 was "World Cup," the global soccer tournament held in Brazil in June. Third on the list was "Ebola," the highly contagious virus.
Have you seen the cable work going on down Highway 67 from Pine Bluff Street to Hwy. 171? The Arkansas Highway Department says it issued a permit to AT&T to place fiber optic on Hwy 67 from Pine Bluff Street to Hwy 171 and then down Hwy 171 to Flake Board Plant.
The second grade classes at Malvern Elementary School had a dress rehearsal on Tuesday, Dec. 16 for their Christmas program that will begin tonight at 6:30 p.m.
Tammy Passafiume has been named the new President/CEO of Diamond Lakes Federal Credit Union, headquartered in Malvern, Arkansas. Passafiume was previously President/CEO of River Valley Federal Credit Union in Camden, Arkansas. She brings 23 years of credit union industry experience to her new position with Diamond Lakes.
