VFW Post 2586 Officer Installation

May 30, 2014

Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2586 held their installation of officers on Tuesday, May 20. They were sworn in by the state officer as: Commander Robert Lafond, Veteran Service Officer Membership Chair Nelson Bailey, Adjutant Nathan Turner, 1st Year Trustee Boyd Johnson, Quartermaster David Baum, Junior-Vice Commander Tom Arnold, Judge Advocate Randy Buie, 3rd Year Trustee Mark Korsmeier, 2nd Year Trustee Wendell Dawson. Magnet Cove hires Nail as elementary principal

Wednesday, May 28 the Magnet Cove School Board held a special meeting in the central office board room at 5:30 p.m. for the purpose of filling vacant positions within the school district. With all members in attendance, the board voted unanimously on the following applicants: Caroline Nail as elementary principal, Taylor Revels as secondary English teacher for grades 7th and 8th and Quinton Revels as elementary teacher for 5th grade. Superintendent Gail McClure reported that all positions are now filled.

Malvern Elementary School raised a total of $1,583.17 for Relay For Life. Pam Coston’s kindergarten class raised the most in the Hot Spring County mini-relay that was held at Malvern Elementary.
