When Summit Bank opens on Monday, it will officially be Bank of the Ozarks, but local customers should not expect to see many visible changes, according to Brian Coston, president of Malvernâ€™s Summit Bank.
The first Wednesday of each month is now when Malvern residents will hear the cityâ€™s early tornado warning alarms. There was a test done on Thursday on the siren at Carmichael Street and it is in working order, as are the other sirens in the city which are maintained by the Malvern Fire Department, according to Fire Chief Jeremy Harper. This alarm system has been in place since the late 1980s to early 1990s, he said.

Central Arkansas Development Council will distribute USDA Commodities Thursday, May 22 and Friday, May 23 in Hot Spring County.
Hot Spring Countyâ€™s distribution will take place from 8 to 11 a.m. and noon to 3 p.m. at the Malvern Community Center (CADC Malvern Senior Activity Center) at 1800 W. Moline St. For more information, call (501) 332-5374.
