Finding science at the library

July 2, 2014

The Science Club was held at the Malvern/Hot Spring County Library Thursday, June 26 and they made Oobleck. Matthew Taber (standing) gave the kids a lesson in fluid dynamics and explained the basic states of matter and their physical properties. Oobleck is a non-Newtonian fluid. It acts like a liquid when being poured, but like a solid when a force is acting on it. It is made out of a mixture of corn starch and water. Oobleck gets its name from the Dr. Seuss book Bartholomew and the Oobleck. (Photo by Mi Vaughn available on MDR website)
