Breaking News: Cutter Morning Star changed to "soft lockdown"

UPDATE: 1/24/15, 5 p.m. - Law enforcement officers reportedly have a person of interest in mind in the incident, but no arrests have been made. The soft lockdown at CMS continued until about 2:45, according to one report.

The Malvern HIgh School Marching Band participated in the Martin Luther King Parade in downtown Malvern on Main Street. Both the senior and junior basketball teams from Glen Rose had victory as well as the Malvern Lady Leopards while Malvern Leopards failed to get a win. Noted photographer Ray Scott visited Malvern and gave a program at the Malvern/Hot Spring County Library. Triple "B" Farm & Feeds had a sale on Cattle Cubes.

I-30 lane closed today near Benton

LITTLE ROCK (AP) — Arkansas transportation officials say improvements to Interstate 30 will require a lane closure in Saline County.
The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department says crews will be improving the driving surface on Interstate 30. The work will require closing the westbound outside lane between mile markers 108 and 109, west of Benton.
The lane closure will occur today, Tuesday, Jan. 20, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., weather permitting. Traffic will be controlled using barrels and warning signs.
