Betty Lou Tarver, age 74 of Malvern, died Saturday, May 11, 2013 in Hot Springs.
Jeff Hixson 43 of Haskell passed away on May 9, 2013 with his loving family by his side.
Tonight at 6 p.m. in the Hot Spring County Courthouse the Hot Spring County Quorum Court will hear the final reading of the proposed hospital tax special election bill.
Bill No. 13-14 is an ordinance providing for the levy of a 1/2 cent sales and use tax within Hot Spring County for hospital and related healthcare facilities.
Bill No. 13-15 is an ordinance calling for a special election in Hot Spring County on the question of levying a county-wide 1/2 cent sales and use tax for hospital and related healthcare facilities.

Well, they came home, got married and bought a Hemingway Cat.
James Lindsey, born in Malvern, February 21, 1953, at the Alexander Hospital, was in North Dakota when he turned 18 and had to register with the draft board. A general at the Minot A.F.B. in North Dakota knew that Lindsey was a member of the Ben Shaw Trio and he also knew Bob Hope was needing a drummer.
Both Malvern Mayor Steve Northcutt and Malvern Street Department Supervisor Glenn McCloud said the stage being constructed in Malvern City Park is a huge bonus for the park, the citizens of Hot Spring County and tourism, which translates to commerce.
In last weekâ€™s Malvern City County meeting it was discussed that the original cost of the stage at the City Park would be $40,000, not the $20,000 that had been earlier figured.
A mistake in bookkeeping by one the contractors revealed Malvern would need to come up with a extra $20,000 for their part of the stage.

Funeral arrangements for Maggie L. Burks Johnson, age 87, of Malvern, Arkansas who died Thursday May 9, 2013 in Mercy Hospital Hot Springs, Arkansas are incomplete and will be announced by Brandonâ€™s Mortuary.
