Difference Makers of HSC

July 5, 2013

It might not be everyday, but somewhere somebody is looking over Hot Spring County and thinking about all the good reasons to live here.

Editorial writers across this country more often than not throw out a few lines to get people fired up about something.
That’s so easy to do. Write something about a neighborhood that needs to be cleaned up or an area of town that could use a bucket of paint here and there and a lot of people will jump on board.

That’s all well-and-fine. In fact, it’s good. People care about the appearance of the place they call home, as they rightfully should.

Fourth of July Traffic Report

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Four work zones will greet Arkansas motorists on major state highways during the holiday weekend, but state highway officials say Interstate 40 between Little Rock and Memphis will have all lanes open.

The state Highway and Transportation Department on Tuesday urged drivers to be careful while in the construction areas.

Traffic on I-40 near Hazen has been snarled for months because of construction around the White River bridge, but Highway Department Director Scott Bennett said work is nearly complete and all lanes will be open.
