Current City Attorney James Lucas Graham has announced his candidacy for the Malvern City Attorney position and will be running against Cecilia Ashcraft for the Democratic nomination in the May Democratic Primary. Graham has served as Malvernâ€™s city attorney since January 2013, and owns and operates the Graham Law Firm in Malvern. Graham previously gained experience in the areas of municipal law and governance while working for the Arkansas Municipal League and while serving as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Little Rock.
The Malvern Area Kiwanis hosted the Kelly Miller Circus for two performances on Sunday, March 30. Despite the change of venue from the Malvern Moose Lodge to Sykes parking lot, Susan Lafond, president of Kiwanis was pleased with the turnout. â€śWe believe that the visibility increased attendance. We had to use social media to spread the word about the last minute change. The ringmaster held each show several minutes to allow for those that had not heard about the change of location to find us,â€ť said Lafond.
According to the Hot Spring County Sheriffâ€™s Office, Theodore Steven McElroy, a suspect in a Military Road burglary investigation, has been apprehended.
