Jimmie Arthur Henderson, age 57, of Conway, Ark., formerly of Malvern, Ark. passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2014 in the J.L. McClellan VA Medical Center Little Rock, Ark.
Allison Scott Craig, age 44, of Malvern, Ark. passed away Friday, June 20, 2014 in Arkansas Hospice Center Hot Springs, Ark.
Carolyn Vanderslice Lewis age 76, of the Brown Springs Community near Arkadelphia passed away Sunday, June 22, 2014 at her home.
Max R. (Chipper) Phillips, Jr. of Prescott, formerly of Hot Springs and Malvern, Arkansas, passed away on June 7, 2014 while traveling in Vicksburg, Mississippi.
Allison Scott Craig age 44, of Malvern, Arkansas died Friday, June 20, 2014 in Arkansas Hospice Center Hot Springs, Arkansas.
Levi Jones, a 2014 Glen Rose High School graduate, was one of 20 western Arkansas students awarded a $1,000 academic scholarship from Farm Credit of Western Arkansas.
Jones is attending Arkansas Tech University this fall and plans to pursue an Agriculture Education degree. He is the son of John and Tara Jones of Malvern.
â€śWe proudly award this well-deserved scholarship in recognition of Leviâ€™s many academic accomplishments and student leadership,â€ť explains Farm Credit CEO Glen Manchester.
Brickfest is just a week away and things are falling into place, according to Brenda Weldon, music coordinator of the festival. Weldon put to rest rumors about any uncertainties regarding funding for scheduled entertainment. â€śSykes is the presenting sponsor as the biggest donor to the festival,â€ť she said. In addition to monetary donations, Sykes has also provided volunteers who will help with parking and other festival responsibilities, she said.
Resident Engineer Tim Baber (right) of the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department, presents Hot Spring County Judge Bill Scrimshire with a plaque from the Arkansas Asphalt Pavement Association in recognition for quality asphalt paving for two county roads in Region 5, CC Road and Amity Road.
