Billy Glen Jones age 70 of Bismarck, AR died Wednesday, December 4, 2013. He was born October 4, 1943 the son of William Edward and Ruthie Chancellor Jones. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, a retired mechanic for Morris Automotive, and a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Dayton Jones and a sister, Christine Mackey.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia.
Glen L. Lawrence, age 82, of Malvern passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2013 surrounded by his family. He was born January 17, 1931, in Great Bend, Kansas, the son of the late Charles Edward and Hazel Amerine Lawrence.
Visitation will be Friday, December 6 from 6:00-8:00pm at Regency Funeral Home.
Graveside service will be Saturday, December 7 at 1:00pm at Shadowlawn Cemetery with full military honors by Thaddeus H. Caraway Post 2278, VFW.
The Poyen Indians picked up a big 59-52 win in the Benton Harmony Grove Tournament against the Bauxite Miners from the 4A Classification Tuesday night.
The Indians jumped out to a 17-13 first-quarter lead that was extended to 34-23 at the half.
The Miners cut into the lead slightly in the third quarter, but still trailed 42-32 heading into the final eight minutes.

On Tuesday night, the Ouachita junior boys, senior girls and senior boys traveled to Nevada for a set of conference games, with only the Lady Warriors returning home victorious.
In the first game of the night, the Ouachita Junior Warriors fell 56-41.
Ouachita fell behind 25-4 in the first quarter and were forced to play catch-up the rest of the way.
The Junior Warriors whittled into the lead throughout the game. They trailed 32-16 at the half and outscored Nevada 10-6 in the final quarter.
Andy Swaim led the Junior Warriors with 15 points.
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. â€” Because of a winter storm warning that was issued on Wednesday for Thursday and into Friday for most counties in northwest and north central Arkansas, the Arkansas Activities Association has postponed all scheduled games for December 6th and 7th, which will extend the 2013 football season one week.
After last weekâ€™s dominating 42-7 win over Green Forest by the Glen Rose Beavers, it was pretty obvious who this weekâ€™s Coach of the Week was going to be.
