The Malvern Leopards and Lady Leopards tennis teams have a total of 13 players this year, but just a handful of returning players from a year ago.
This year’s teams will also be fairly young, as coach Angela Greene has just five seniors out for tennis this year.

No need for LeBron to have "The Decision 2.0"

July 10, 2014

Just a few years ago, LeBron James was the darling of the NBA world as a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers, then with a one-hour debacle of a marketing ploy, he threw away all of that good will with “The Decision.”
Instead of just announcing he was leaving his home state and joining another team (like every other player on Earth would have), he drug it out and milked it for everything it was worth.

James King Memorial 7-on-7 Tournament

July 10, 2014

Teams from 14 different schools assembled at Malvern High School on Wednesday for the second James King Memorial 7-on-7 Tournament.
The tournament is named for former Malvern Leopard football player James King, who tragically lost his life in 2012. The tournament was started as a way to remember and honor King, who was a beloved member of the community as much as he was a talented football player.

Their game tonight is actually to get into the championship game, which will be played on Thursday evening at 6 p.m. Their game tonight will be at 8 p.m. at the Arkadelphia Youth Sports Complex.

The tournament was held on Saturday and Sunday, but the weather caused some changes in the format.
When the rain moved in on Saturday, the event had to be shortened to just nine holes, with an additional 18 holes being played on Sudnay.
In the championship flight, the team of Reggie English and Matt Allen finished first, followed by Rodney Allen/Camron Hurst and Chad Graves/Mike Nevens.

Malvern football team looking for new O.C.

June 3, 2014

The Malvern Leopards football staff had a bit of a shake-up on Friday, as offensive coordinator J.D. Plumlee left the program to take the same position at Harrison High School.
Plumlee’s wife’s family is from the Harrison area, and the move was inspired by family, Malvern head coach Mike Scarbrough said.
“We appreciate J.D.’s work here,” Scarbrough said. “He did a great job for us.”
