Mr. A. G. Wise, Jr., age 87, of Avinger, Texas, died Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at his home. He was born in Benton, Arkansas, on March 14, 1921, to the late A. G., Jr. and Lillie D. White Wise. Mr. Wise was reared and educated in Benton, and brought up in the Methodist Church. He later owned and operated a trucking company in Grapevine, Texas. His company did the dirt work when Texas Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys, was being constructed in Irving, Texas.

Roy E. Brown, age 74, of Malvern, died early Friday morning in the Hot Spring County Medical Center.

Loving husband, father and grandfather, Bobby Dean Kirchoff, 74, of Malvern went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. He was born Nov. 24, 1933, in Stuttgart. Bobby served in the Navy aboard the USS St. Paul, had been employed by Safeway while residing in Stuttgart, was co-owner of Gibson’s Discount Stores in Malvern and was currently owner of the Stanley Street Pawn Shop in Malvern. He enjoyed working alongside his wife, Ann, going to auctions, hunting and fishing, playing with his grandboys and attending various sporting events coached by his two daughters.

William Harold Sheppard of Poyen, Ark., was born Oct. 28, 1923, in Poyen the son of Ada Matthews Sheppard and William Archie Sheppard. He passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at St. Vincent Hospital in Little Rock at the age of 84.
He was a Decorated Veteran of Iwo Jima in the Marine Corp during World War II.

Joyce Doss Walters, 77, of Hot Springs died Tuesday. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Atkinson Funeral Home chapel. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday. Interment will be in Shady Grove Cemetery.
