On Monday, Aug. 25, Malvern Elementary School hosted a G.E.M. (Greet, Eat and Meet) night for incoming kindergarteners and their parents. The kindergarteners were able to meet their teacher and visit their classroom.

Fred Byrd is a quiet and unassuming man. After serving his country during the Korean War, he returned home to work for Arkansas Power and Light until retirement.
