We have been seeking God in each book of the Bible and we now come to 2 Peter. In his first epistle, Peter wrote about having a hope that believers can live by. In 2 Peter, he continued that theme, but added to it, indicating that we have absolute assurance of this hope. Peter wants to make sure that believers understand the certainty of their Savior coming back for them.

Almost 40 years ago, I was fitted with my first pair of contact lenses. I had saved my money in anticipation of the day when I would be free of my glasses. I still recall how wonderful it was when I first looked outdoors. Colors were brighter, and I had never had such clear vision since I started wearing glasses at the age of 12.
