Burrow to attend Arkansas Tech

Whitney Burrow of Malvem has been awarded several prestigious scholarships to pursue her college education. She will graduate from Poyen High School as valedictorian of the 2008 graduating class. She is the daughter of Ricky and Sandy Burrow, sister of Holly Burrow and granddaughter of Betty Burrow.

Weldon receives a gift from the heart

Jake Weldon started running high fever, low white blood cell count and severe fatigue in March 2007.  After a muscle biopsy he was diagnosed with T-cell non Hodgkin’s lymphoma on July 27, 2007, which is not considered rare, but only 10 percent of people have the T-cell.  He was referred to Genesis Cancer Center in Hot Springs for treatment.

...there is no place for teen's to go on friday nights and the movie theater is to expeicive for them to go there. So they are out running the street cause problems for their selves and parents. We need a place for them to go on the weekends.

...I agree with Miss Nutt's posting that there is not enough entertainment options for adolescents in our town. The problem that occurs is teens leave Malvern on Friday and Saturday nights to find this entertainment in Hot Springs or Benton, allowing Malvern's economy to fall short. It would be a profitable venture for any local business to step up and expand these options to allow a means of fun and safety for local teens.
