Election commission receives Model 650

May 1, 2014

Hot Spring County Election Commission recently received a grant from the County Voting System Grant Fund in the amount of $15,212. The grant was used to purchase an ES&S Model 650, an easy-to-use, high-speed central paper ballot counter and vote tabulator that supports a full range of jurisdiction sizes and ballot complexities.

Patty Griggs, Hot Spring County Election Coordinator said the new Model 650, not only will assist in counting absentee paper ballots but will also count school board ballots. School board ballots are currently paper only ballots and previously were counted by human eye, she said.
The Model 650 can feed up to 300 paper ballots at a time. The Model 650 is the ideal machine for larger jurisdictions where there is a high number of precincts.
