Gary Wayne Furr age 56 of Friendship departed this life on February 10, 2013 in Hot Springs.
He was born November 14, 1956 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. Gary worked with the Arkansas Vending Facility Program for the Blind for thirty-one years. Gary attended The Church of God in Arkadelphia, Arkansas and was a faithful Christian for many years. He loved Christian music and blessed many people with his ministry of playing the drums for the Lord.
Survivors are his parents, Russell and Leatrice Furr of the home; two sisters, Rhonda Smith and husband, Dewayne of Pocahontas, Karen Kight and husband, Dale of Hot Springs; one brother, Russ Furr and wife, Tonya of Friendship; three nieces, Brooke Rickey and husband, Casey, Hayley Furr and Riley Furr; five nephews, Brandon Smith, Dr. Tyler Kight and wife, Jordynn, Asher Kight, Truston Furr and Tanner Furr. two great-nieces, Avery Walls and Halle Jo Rickey; one great-nephew, Cohen Smith; many other relatives and freinds.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, February 14th at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia with Bro. Dewayne Smith and Bro. Gary Barker officiating. Interment will be in Gilchrist Cemetery at Friendship. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Smith, Dr. Tyler Kight, Asher Kight, Mike Catlett, Mike Burnett, John Echols, Dale Kight and Wilton Furr. Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Pospisil, the faculty, employees and students of College of the Ouachitas and employees of Arkansas Vending Facility Program for the Blind.
