Hwy 270 chase nets drugs

March 25, 2014

A driver’s failure to dim his bright lights led to the confiscation of four small bags of crystal methamphetamine. The driver and a passenger fled the scene on foot and at press time had not been located, according to a report from the HSC Sheriff’s Office.

In the early morning hours of Friday, March 21, a vehicle traveling west on Highway 270 near Jones Mill failed to dim its headlights when meeting Hot Spring County Deputy Michael Sealy. Sealy turned his vehicle around and initiated his emergency lights to perform a traffic stop of the vehicle. The driver pulled into a convenience store parking lot, but got back onto the highway and began traveling west at a high rate of speed, according to Sealy’s report.
