Independence Day celebration begins today in Oaklawn Park

July 3, 2013

It’s easy to kickoff the July 4th holiday early this year at Oaklawn’s Spa Blast presented by Coco Beverage Inc. Oaklawn is opening its infield today, July 3 at 5:30 p.m. for the event featuring a concert by country music icon Lee Greenwood and fireworks display.

Spa Blast will include a Kids Zone with inflatable rides, concessions, misting tent and live music earlier in the evening by up and coming local country group Downday.

Guests are encouraged to park in the North Lot for easier access to the infield. Lawn chairs and blankets are welcome. No coolers will be allowed.

DeGray Lake will feature its annual fireworks show to wrap up Independence Day Thursday, July 4.

Cap off a day of celebration off with the annual DeGray Lake fireworks show brought to you by DeGray Lake Resort State Park, Iron Mountain Marina and Resort, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Caddo Valley and Arkadelphia Volunteer Fire Departments and your donations.

The show begins at 9:30 p.m. over beautiful DeGray Lake and is made even more magical by the myriad of red, green, and white lights of boats on the lake. This is a family friendly event. Bring lawn chairs and snacks to fully enjoy the show. The show is produced entirely by donations and volunteers. Admission is free.
