Late game offense give Panthers the title

The Magnet Cove Panthers baseball team came away with the 5-2A District title on Saturday, but it wasn’t easy.
The Panthers defeated the hosting Poyen Indians 5-4, but Magnet Cove trailed for 6 2/3 innings of the game.
Magnet Cove was trailing 4-0 by the time the Panthers finally got on the board.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, Gavin Porter hit a single to give the Panthers a base runner. But two outs later, it appeared as if this inning would go the same way the previous four had.
Thanks to a Tanner Clements single and a Cole Edwards double, the Panthers were able to get three runs in the inning to make it a new ball game.
