Panthers face football royalty on Friday

November 21, 2013

The Magnet Cove Panthers (8-2-1) will have one of their biggest tests of the season when they host the Rison Wildcats (7-3) in the second round of the Class 2A state football playoffs.
When it comes to high school football in the state of Arkansas, few teams have had more success than Rison.
In their school’s history, the Wildcats have posted a 65-30 record.
Their head coach, Clay Totty, has a career record of 145-41-1, putting him near the top of all of the active coaches in the state.
Compared to the last few years, one could almost consider this a down year for the Panthers, which is an impressive statement for a team with eight wins and a conference championship.
