Urgent Appeal for Blood Donations to Help our Neighboring State of Oklahoma

Staff Writer

Arkansas Blood Institute is asking donors of all blood types to give blood as soon as they can to help our friends in Oklahoma.*
Due to the urgency of the situation, Arkansas Blood Institute has extended its hours at its donor centers in Little Rock and Hot Springs. The centers will be open until 6:00 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 23 and until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24. Donors can also give at any mobile drive listed on arkbi.org.
As a non-profit blood center, Arkansas Blood Institute’s volunteer donors provide every drop of blood needed for patients in more than 40 hospitals statewide,
• Strong, bold or fearless -- Each donor will receive their choice of 1 of 3 inspiring t-shirts (while supplies last)
• If a donor would like to support Global Blood Fund, he/she can forgo the T-shirt. In turn, Arkansas Blood Institute will make a contribution of similar value.
Anyone who’s generally healthy & 16 or older can typically give blood. You can donate blood every 56 days, so donate as often as you can.
With every donation, you not only save lives but also earn Donor Rewards Points; redeemable at the Donor Rewards Store in April, September, and December.
It takes nearly 1,200 donors A DAY to meet the blood needs of patients in our regional hospitals. Give back to your community in a way that only you can, by giving blood.
