A total of 253 voters have taken advantage of early “no excuse” voting in the runoff race for the Democratic Party nomination for Hot Spring County Sheriff between incumbent Sheriff Chad Ledbetter and Malvern Police Department Detective Cpl. Ryan Burris.
HSC Clerk Mary Ann Walters announced the total Monday after the early voting precinct in the basement of the HSC Courthouse closed at 4:30 p.m. Walter reminded voters that polls are open through 7:30 p.m. today in the runoff election. The Democratic nomination will be decided tonight between the two men. Tonight’s victor faces Republican Party nominee Nelson Bailey, who was unopposed in his party’s preferential primary, and independent candidate Christopher Hilborn in the November general election. The runoff between Ledbetter and Burris is the only race on today’s ballot. The Malvern Daily Record will have complete coverage of the results in Wednesday’s edition. |
