Third suspect arrested
Wednesday, 11 June 2008

By Steve Good
Three of four suspects in the June 2 capital murder of 21-year-old Damien Rachard Jones of Malvern are in custody, and police say they have identified the fourth suspect in the case.

Malvern Police Department Assistant Chief William Ross said Tuesday that Anthony Bell, Jr., 20, of Maumelle, was arrested for capital murder after he surrendered himself to the Maumelle Police Department on Monday.
Bell is reportedly being held in a nearby county jail without bond, pending a bond hearing, which had not been set as of press time.
Ross said the search is continuing for a fourth suspect in Jones’ murder, Brian M. Clay, 29, of Little Rock, who reportedly was last seen in North Little Rock on June 5.
Two other suspects, Timothy Laplez Davis, 32, and Shkendra Braxton, 21, were arrested late Friday afternoon by Malvern and Maumelle police officers without incident at a Maumelle apartment.
Davis, who uses both Malvern and North Little Rock addresses, and Braxton, of Magnolia, appeared Monday before Seventh Judicial District Circuit Judge Chris Williams, who ordered them held without bond to await trial. Williams set both to appear for arraignment at 1 p.m. July 2, court records indicate.
Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Clay is asked to contact MPD by telephone at 501-332-3636 or anonymously 24 hours a day through the department’s tip line at 501-337-5477.
