Victim in fire died of smoke inhalation
Monday, 16 June 2008

By Steve Good
A Malvern man whose body was recovered Monday night after a residential fire at 891 Eiler Loop in northeast Hot Spring County died as a result of the fire, according to investigators from the HSC Sheriff’s Department.

HSC Chief Deputy Sheriff Richard Tolleson said Friday that preliminary autopsy results provided to the department showed Phillip A. Graham, 48, had soot and smoke residue in his lungs consistent with a death by smoke inhalation.
Tolleson said Tuesday that foul play was not suspected in Graham’s death.
HSC Deputy Sheriff Mark Blackerby found the mobile home fully engulfed in flames when he responded to a report of a house fire at that address shortly after 9:15 p.m. Monday.
According to Tolleson, Blackerby interviewed the female owner of the residence, who told him that she left her home around 7 p.m., leaving Graham there. She said she arrived home about 9:15 p.m. to find her home in flames.
Graham’s body was recovered from the mobile home after firefighters from Glen Rose, Rockport and Magnet Cove extinguished the flames.
