John Wesley Ashley, 54, of Malvern, has been released from the Hot Spring County Jail on $2,500 bond after being arrested for forgery, according to Malvern Police Department reports and jail records.
MPD reports say Ashley had been living with a sister and her husband. The reports indicate Ashley’s sister died on Monday, and he allegedly began cashing checks written to himself on her account on Tuesday. Ashley was arrested Thursday at his residence on Gifford Road by HSC Sheriff’s Investigator Barbie Koder and MPD Detective Cpl. Ryan Burris, according to reports.
