Investigation into shooting continues
Tuesday, 15 July 2008

By Steve Good
Investigators are working leads generated from additional interviews this week with two Hot Springs men who were shot while sitting in a vehicle parked on Young Street the night of June 29.
Hot Spring County Chief Deputy Sheriff Richard Tolleson said Friday that HSC criminal investigators had met with both men, who were in different Little Rock hospitals.
Police have arrested Ronald Earl “Scooter” Robinson, 31, of Malvern, and charged him with attempted capital murder in connection with the shooting incident. Seventh Judicial District Circuit Judge Chris Williams set Robinson’s bond at $250,000 at a hearing held the afternoon of June 30.
The victims said they fled the shooting scene and drove their bullet-riddled car to Moline Street, where a passerby stopped and offered them a ride to Hot Spring County Medical Center. Both men were treated at HSCMC. Both were emergency transferred to separate Little Rock hospitals.
One victim, who Tolleson said was released from hospital late this week, was struck by a single shot.
The second victim suffered a gunshot wound to his right arm, a gunshot wound to his back and a gunshot wound through from rib cage to rib cage. He remains hospitalized, Tolleson said.
Police reports say the victims’ vehicle was found where they said they left it. The reports also say there were approximately 10 bullet holes in the driver’s side, rear and passenger’s side. The reports indicate there was also front end damage on the driver’s side.
Police reports indicate investigators located 10 shell casings and broken vehicle parts on Young Street at the location where the victims say they were fired upon.
