HSCSWA starts new program

The Hot Spring County Solid Waste Authority has an exciting new program underway.

They are now recycling plastics at the Gifford, Jones Mill, Donaldson, Caney and Bismarck locations. They will be accepting PETE #1 plastics, which are like drink bottles and HDPE #2 plastics, which are the heavier plastic containers such as milk jugs, detergent bottles and mayonnaise containers. They do ask that you clean out all food containers.
There is no need to remove the lids to these containers, either. There is no charge for this service.
Angela Pigue, SAW Administrator, said that a good rule of thumb is that if the top of the container is smaller than the body of the container, they can take it at the drop-off centers. For more information or details, call the SWA at 501-332-3857.
