By Paxton Penny The Malvern Leopards, Glen Rose Beavers, Magnet Cove Panthers and Bismarck Lions will all be in preseason action on Tuesday, Aug. 26.
The Leopards didn’t get to hold their Steak Scrimmage Thursday, but the team will be in action in Little Rock this Tuesday for the Catholic High Rockets Jamboree at War Memorial Stadium. The team will play a short scrimmage at 4:30 p.m. and another at 7 p.m. The Leopards will open the regular season when they host Sylvan Hills at Claude Mann Stadium on Friday, Sept. 5 — kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. The Glen Rose Beavers and the junior high Beavers will scrimmage against Prescott at Ouachita Baptist University’s A.U. Williams Field in Arkadelphia on Tuesday. The junior high will kick things off with their game at 5:30 p.m. The defending AAA State Champion Beavers have a tough season opener set for Sept. 5 at home against class AAAA’s Ashdown. The junior high Beavers’ regular season will begin Thursday, Sept. 11, 7 p.m. at Lakeside. The Magnet Cove Panthers, junior high Panthers and the Bismarck Lions will all be part of the Jessieville Lion Jamboree on Tuesday, which is set to begin at 6 p.m. The junior high Panthers will begin the regular season Thursday, Sept. 4 against Mount Ida at Panther Stadium. The senior high Panthers will play the following evening at Mount Ida. Both games will begin at 7 p.m. The Bismarck Lions, along with the junior Lions have a “Blue-White” scrimmage set for Friday, Aug. 29, 6 p.m. The junior high Lions will play at Dierks on Sept. 11, 7 p.m. to open the regular season. The Lions will kick off the regular season the following night, Friday, Sept. 12, 7 p.m. at home against Horatio. The Malvern Junior High Cubs will host an exhibition game against White Hall at Claude Mann Stadium on Thursday, Aug. 28. Their season opener, also at home, will be played against AAAAAA Benton.
