Ken Batchelor, age 50, of Poyen passed away Aug. 29, 2008, at St. Vincent’s Infirmary in Little Rock, due to complications from surgery. He was a boilermaker for the Union Pacific Railroad and a member of the Harmony Missionary Baptist Church in Prattsville. Ken loved hunting and fishing and spending time with his family. He is preceded in death by his mother, Nadine “Joy” Batchelor.
Ken is survived by his father, Nolan Batchelor; his wife, Cindy Batchelor; sons, Heath Batchelor and wife, Shanna and Zach Batchelor, all of Poyen and Brock Townley and wife, Diane of Bismarck; daughter, Hollye Hecke and husband, Kyle of Hot Springs; sister, Treva Beaver and husband, Kenneth of Cold Spring, Texas, and grandchildren, Kodee and Bo Batchelor and Kaden Townley. Visitation will be Monday, Sept. 1, 2008, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Regency Funeral Home in Malvern. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008, at 10 a.m. in the Regency Chapel with Brother Ray Sinkhorn officiating. Interment will follow at Lindsey-Poyen Cemetery in Poyen. Pallbearers will be Gene Batchelor, Kevin Hopkins, Bart Batchelor, Justin Moore, Chad Batchelor and Mike Byrd. Arrangements are by Regency Funeral Home.
