Jerry L. Groves, age 66, of Malvern passed away Sept. 24, 2008, at St. Joseph’s Mercy Health Center in Hot Springs. He was born June 12, 1942, in Houston, Texas, the son of Bruce Warren and Vera Virginia (Gray) Groves. 
Jerry served 11 years in the U.S. Navy where he was a medical corpsman and was also stationed aboard the USS Guam. He was a pharmacist graduating from Wichita State University and the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. His family was the love of his life.
Survivors are his wife, Delores (Shuffield) Groves; son, Lanny Allen and wife, Jeri Lynn of Atkins; daughters, Christine Groves Hubbell and husband, Chris of Hot Springs and Tracy Bass-Fisher and husband, Randy of Hot Springs; sisters, Sharon Boddie of West Helena, Gennie Buie and husband, Ricky of Marvell and Jane Johnston and husband, Phillip of West Helena; grandchildren, Alex Groves, Meghan McDaniel, Gabriel and Connor Bass and Hunter and Perry Allen; and numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, Sept. 26 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Regency Funeral Home in Malvern.
Services will be Saturday, Sept. 27 at 2 p.m. in the Regency Chapel with Brother Chris Morrison officiating. Interment will follow in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Marshall, Bryan, Blaine and Barry Weatherford, Don Carter and Danny Byrd. Honorary pallbearers are the doctors and team from Genesis Cancer Center, and all of the fourth and fifth floor nurses at St. Joseph’s Mercy Health Center.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
