Paul E. Bowdle, age 82, of Malvern passed away Sept. 27, 2008, at HSC Medical Center. He was born Sept. 24, 1926, in Malvern to the late Richard and Bertha (Crumby) Bowdle. Paul graduated from Central High School in 1944 and then enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving two years during WWII. 
After his service to his country he went to work for Benton State Bank. Paul later worked at Bank of Malvern for over 33 years and earned a banking degree from the American Institute of Banking. He was Malvern City Treasurer for 10 years and was also a past Malvern City Alderman and member of the Civitan Club. Paul was a life member of First Assembly of God and was church treasurer for many years. Other than his parents, his first wife, Evalee Cunningham Bowdle preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Nora A. Bowdle, to whom he was married on May 13, 1995; one son, Steven P. Bowdle of Malvern; two stepsons, Darrell Manis of Malvern and Doyle Manis of Bismarck; three stepdaughters, Danita Foster (Steve) of Yellville, Darlene Fuller of Malvern and Danell Kennedy (Darrell) of Malvern; two sisters, Mary Lou Eldridge of Tulsa Okla., and Martha L. Stuckey of Norco, Calif.; step-grandchildren, Nicholas Fuller, Felicia Fuller, Josh Manis, Cristal Manis, Devin Manis, Spencer Manis, Blade Batchelor and Jordan Batchelor; and step-great-grandchildren, Rylie Manis, Donnely Fuller and Eli Fuller.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Oct. 1, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Regency Funeral Home.
Services will be Thursday, Oct. 2, at 2 p.m. in the Regency Chapel with Brother James Pennington and Reverend Jimmy Bobo officiating. Burial will be in the Rockport Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Kevin Whitley, Floyd Honeycutt, Windel Belford, Phillip Pace, Don Belford and Butch Ballard. Honorary pallbearer is Marvin Patrick.
