The accident which is under investigation by the Malvern Police Department, was caused by an unknown driver of a black Ford Fusion striking an individual riding a motorized scooter on Martin Luther King Boulevard. Detective Randy Neal of the Malvern Police Department stated that the female subject was driving her scooter south on Martin Luther King Boulevard when the driver of the black Ford Fusion, also headed south on Martin Luther King Boulevard, struck the scooter from behind and left the scene after the impact. Once the roadway was cleared, the fire department went back into service at 5:37 a.m. The female subject is currently being treated for her injuries and remains hospitalized at the time of this article. Detective Neal asks that if anyone has any information about the accident, or knows the identity of the driver of the Ford Fusion, or knows of its location, to contact the Malvern Police Department at 332-3636.
