The Malvern/Hot Spring County Library has been pretty busy this summer trying to keep kids entertained. Almost every day there is a different activity both children and adults can participate in while having fun and learning about new adventures.
On Wednesday, June 17 the library hosted a princess party where boys and girls alike could dress up as princes and princesses and watch Cinderella together. Librarian Ashley Parker took advantage of this opportunity to find her inner child. On Tuesday June 23 the library held a fire department program for children 4-12 years old. Many were in attendance and enjoyed watching the presentations. Again, Ashley got to play dress-up and found out just how much gear firemen must put on to battle a blaze. Every week the library has a summer reading program and awards prizes to the winners. The week three winners were Hannah Darnell, Anthony Horton, Sierra Bailey, Caleb Montgomery, Jared Westbrook, Lillyanna Miller, and Tristan Sillavan. On Tuesday June 30 the library will be holding a 4th of July craft event from 5-6:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend. The library will be closed on Friday July 3 and Saturday July 4 in observance of Independence Day.
