Friday, June 26, a special day of celebration for members of the Senior Activity Center having birthdays in June. They were seated at a beautifully decorated table with birthday cupcakes furnished by the Hot Spring County Extension Homemakers Council.
The youngest and oldest woman and man were honored. The youngest woman and man were: Robert and Carolyn Ireton and the oldest woman and man were: Emma Murdock and Carl Raker. Happy Birthday to everyone with a June birthday.
A special occasion took place at the Senior Activity Center over the weekend. It was a reception honoring James and Jaunita Wilson celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. It was a wonderful day with lots of family and friends attending. Wishing you many more anniversaries.
There are many opportunities for you at the Senior Activity Center. Some coming up this month are: music by Bluegrass Bands, blood pressure and blood sugar checks (six times a month), educational programs, exercise, bingo, etc.
July 9, at 11:00 A.M., the Reddi Strummers will be presenting a program.
Tuesday, July 14, AARP Driving Class. You will need to sign up for this class. You may call the Senior Activity Center, 332-5374, 1800 W. Moline St.
July 16, Thursday, Ice Cream Social, following lunch. Come have lunch and enjoy the dessert of cake and ice cream.
At 10:45, July 22, UAMS will be giving a program about “Fall Prevention”. We all need to be more careful.
Commodities will be distributed on Thursday and Friday, beginning at 8:00 AM -- 11:00AM and 12:00PM -- 3:00PM. For more information call the Senior Activity Center, 332-5374.
The July birthday celebration will be July 24. End of the month drawing will be Friday, July 31. You must be present to win.
The Senior Activity Center will be closed on July 3, 2009. Wishing everyone a happy and safe 4th of July celebration. See you on Monday, July 6.
