Teams are preparing to signup for what has become quite the buzz around Malvern and Hot Spring County.
During the months of April, May and June residents across Hot Spring County will be competing for a healthier lifestyle and for money in the Lose-To-Win Fat to Fitness Challenge. Teams of four people are taking part in a challenge to lose weight. The winning team will be awarded a grand prize of $1,000. Each team will pay an entry fee of $50, just $12.50 per person. Registration is at the Malvern Daily Record or at the Body Works Health & Recreation. Ron Wilks, owner of the Body Works, said several different groups had inquired about the contest. “People tell me they’re going to participate,” Wilks said. Entrants do not have to be a member of Body Works Health & Recreation to participate. Each team will work out their own schedule as a team or individually but must weigh-in at a specified time as a team. Body Works is the location for the weigh-ins and records to be maintained. Forms must be submitted on time to qualify. Each team will weigh in during the first three days of April, again during the first three days of May and have a final weigh-in either June 16, June 17 or June 18. There will be a reception at the Body Works June 26 during the noon hour to announce the winners and award the prizes. Individual weights will not be publicized. Each team must weigh-in together and have a picture taken each month at Body Works. |
