Vandals are a strange breed. Not a good breed — just a strange one.

Hot Spring County has suffered vandalism at our parks. It’d be easy to guess vandals come in all ages, shapes and forms. There has been vandalism at Malvern City Park more than once. That might well have been the place those same vandals enjoyed the swings and the playground equipment themselves as children. It might well be where those same vandals will one day take their own children to enjoy the outdoors.
Vandals have too much time on their hands. It would be easier and less labor-intensive to do some good at the free public areas in Hot Spring County — such as maybe picking up a can or bottle some other person had thrown out, or picking up a bag someone tossed from their car after finishing off the burger and fries. But vandals don’t operate in that manner. Vandals are a thoughtless breed. They don’t mind painting graffiti on a building, but hand them a paint brush and watch them disappear. It would be better if there were other ways to make them disappear.
