Students in Mrs. Leslee Eskola’s 4th grade class at Magnet Cove Elementary participated in the Heifer International Read to Feed program.  Students worked to get sponsors to donate money for the time that they spent reading.
Students learned about people living in other countries that are less fortunate.  Various animals were researched to determine what animal would be most beneficial to a family in need somewhere in the world.
After collecting all of the class donations, students raised a staggering $390 for the program.   The class was able to purchase a water buffalo, a goat, and a flock of chickens for Heifer International.
Students were able to see goats and chickens first hand when Scott Smith volunteered to drop by the class with his animals.
The program was completed as a service learning project with Ms. Shannon Eubanks, an intern from OBU.

...that this town is growing.  I espescially like that there are more resturants to choose from.  Now if we had a Lowes closer that would be great.  Thanks.  Keep up the good work.

...there is no place for teen's to go on friday nights and the movie theater is to expeicive for them to go there. So they are out running the street cause problems for their selves and parents. We need a place for them to go on the weekends.

Mandy Nutt - Malvern, AR

...I agree with Miss Nutt's posting that there is not enough entertainment options for adolescents in our town. The problem that occurs is teens leave Malvern on Friday and Saturday nights to find this entertainment in Hot Springs or Benton, allowing Malvern's economy to fall short. It would be a profitable venture for any local business to step up and expand these options to allow a means of fun and safety for local teens.
