The Malvern Lady Leopards are going to the State Championship!
They defeated Crossett 2-0 yesterday evening in the semifinal round of the State Tournament at Harrison. "We played as good defensively as we've played all year," commented coach Mike Scarbrough. Jasmyne Smith had a double. She scored on a single from Ellen Crumby in the second inning. Ashley Boyles slapped a homerun in the sixth. The Lady Leopards defeated Harrison 4-3 in eight innings on Saturday in the tournament’s quarterfinal round. The game was delayed by storms in the fifth. The State Championship game will be played this Friday in Fayetteville at Lady 'Back Yard on the campus of the University of Arkansas, 4 p.m. |
