Melvin Lee Miller, age 68, of Midway passed away Saturday, May 10, 2008, in a Hot Springs hospital. He was born on April 28, 1940, in Corpus Christi, Texas. After graduating from high school in Porterville, Calif., he joined the United States Navy. He served four tours in Vietnam and one in the Mediterranean before retiring. He graduated from Ouachita Vo-tech in 1981 with a degree in Auto Mechanics. He retired from Gildner Ford of Arkadelphia after 20 years of service.
He leaves his wife of 49 years, Henrietta Miller of Midway; three children, Kathy Lezenby and husband, Matthew of Arkadelphia, Dan Miller and wife, Elsa of Goliad, Texas, and Kenny Miller and wife, Sandie of Friendship; eight grandchildren, Christina Kugler of Russellville, Jonathan and David Lazenby of Arkadelphia, Heather Lee of Friendship, Amanda, Sarah and Rachel Miller of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Holly Miller of Friendship and three great-grandchildren, Cheyenne and Jacob Kugler of Russellville and Cayden Lee of Friendship. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Pauline Miller and Clarence Brown and his brother, Gary F. Miller. Graveside services are scheduled for 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at Neighbors Cemetery with Pastor Hollis McDermott officiating. Following the graveside service the family will receive friends at their home, 1154 Midway Road, Donaldson. Arrangements are under the direction of Atkinson Funeral Home of Malvern. (501) 332-2711. |
