Oveta Savell, age 85, of Arkadelphia, passed away Sunday, May 11, 2008. She was born Jan. 29, 1923, in Arkadelphia, Ark., to Robert Foreman and Rosa Stocker Foreman. She worked for the human development center. She was a charter member of Riverside Baptist Church in Donaldson.
She is survived by four children, H.B. “Bo” Savell, Jr. and wife, Ruthalene of Lamar, Jeanette Conboy of California, Jerry Savell and wife, Nancy of Arkadelphia and Linda Gray and husband, June Bug of Donaldson; nine grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, H. B. Savell, Sr. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2008, in the Atkinson Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Billy Reed officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Wednesday until service time. Interment will be in Ouachita Cemetery. Pallbearers are Thomas Hammond, Vernon McMahan, Jack McMahan, Marvin McDade, Roy Morrison and June Bug Gray. Arrangements are under the direction of Atkinson Funeral Home of Malvern.
