Beatrice Mae Gipson Brosius of Benton, Ark., died on May 12 in Benton, Saline Memorial Hospital. She was 83. She was born Aug. 11, 1924, in Crane, Mo., to C.W. and Meta Mae (Hilton) Gipson, both of Crane, Mo. Mrs. Brosius spent much of her life in Cotter, Ark., and attended old Cotter High School, class of 1942. She retired from C.A.D.C. Malvern and Benton, Ark., after many years of service. She enjoyed cooking, quilting, sewing, embroidery and various handcrafts. She was well-known in her community for delicious pies, cakes and delectable breads. She was very active with neighborhood Bible studies and the Ladies Bible Class of Holland Chapel Missionary Baptist Church where she was a member. She could always be counted on to provide Sunday “taxi” service to church for all her dear friends at Whispering Pines Housing Addition.

She is survived by four children, Richard O. Kendrick of Corbin, Ky., Dr. Annette Brosius Lemons of Fayetteville, Ark., Lynden Lee Roland (Skeet) Brosius of Benton, Ark., and Mark Douglas Brosius of Diamond Head; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 15 at 2 p.m. at the Roller-Ballard Funeral Home, Benton, Ark., with burial at the New Rosemont Cemetery in Benton, Ark., under the direction of the Roller-Ballard Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14 at Roller-Ballard.
The family extends its gratitude to Hospice of Saline County for its tender, professional care-giving skills and excellent, un-precedented medical services.
