In February, the Malvern Police Department received a grant from the West Central Arkansas Planning & Development District (WCAPDD) General Improvement Fund. These funds were appropriated by the 89th Arkansas General Assembly for the grant program. This program is to assist local communities with their community and economic development needs.

The police department was presented a grant check for $19,825 from Senator Alan Clark. With this funding, the department has purchased two solar powered mobile radar speed signs. The signs will show a vehicle’s speed. If it is exceeding the posted speed limit, the signs will give off warning flashes.
