HSC schools rate among top in state

According to U.S. News & World Report, area high schools in Arkansas rated soundly on the list of the top schools in the state.
Sheridan High School, in Grant County, was rated ninth among high schools in the state.
Bismarck High School, in Hot Spring County, cracked the top 20 at 19th and Malvern High School was ranked 31st.

Law Enforcement Run for the Special Olympics

Members of the Malvern Police Department and the Department of Corrections Ouachita Unit took part in the Law Enforcement Run for the Special Olympics on Wednesday. The run started at the Valero gas station on Highway 270 (near Walmart) and ended at Doyle’s Corner where Highway 270 splits with Highway 67. (Photo available on the MDR website)

What resembled a sea of white water shortly after 6 a.m. Tuesday morning coming down Locust Street behind Food Center was in fact white paint that had been applied to a building the night before which had washed off into the streets.

Where are they now?
They are right here in Malvern, where they should be.
Whatever happened to the band members of the U.S.O. that played for Bob Hope?
Well, they came home, got married and bought a Hemingway Cat.
James Lindsey, born in Malvern, February 21, 1953, at the Alexander Hospital, was in North Dakota when he turned 18 and had to register with the draft board. A general at the Minot A.F.B. in North Dakota knew that Lindsey was a member of the Ben Shaw Trio and he also knew Bob Hope was needing a drummer.
